Catering For Muslim Students

Curtin University of Technology is proud of its multicultural student population and endeavours to provide services and facilities to cater for all students. Students of all religious backgrounds are welcomed and provided for on all Curtin campuses. Muslim students are supported with on-campus prayer rooms, food outlets serving Halal food, and the Curtin Muslim Association (CMSA).

The CMSA is a non-profit religious society within Curtin University dedicated to promote the wellbeing of Muslim students. They provide religious, social and academic activities based upon the Islamic Sharia Principle and to promote the Islamic vision of the unity of Human kind. The CMSA promotes a better and more accurate understanding of Islam as a way of life, represents the interest of Muslim students and endeavours to maximise social interaction among them.

Curtin seeks to provide support for the religious and spiritual needs of students. The University Chaplain is available to all students for free and confidential support on matters of faith, belief, values and religion. The Chaplain does not represent any denomination, faith or religious organisation, but provides wide-ranging support, assisted by occasional visiting chaplains, including Muslim. Prayer facilities for various traditions exist on campus, such as regular prayers and services for followers of the Islamic faith, providing Muslim students with a place for daily prayer and gatherings.

Curtin encourages and supports diversity amongst staff and students and welcomes people from all religious and cultural backgrounds to be part of the Curtin community.
